A New Life for Retired Racehorses
The US horse racing industry is a $100 billion-dollar sport that produces approximately 20,000 foals each year. Approximately 10,000 thoroughbreds each year are sent from the racing industry to slaughter in Canada and Mexico.

Statistics show that over 10,000 retired racehorses are sent to slaughter each year. That number is half of the approximately 20,000 thoroughbred foals that are born annually. When we heard these statistics, we started talking about how to change them. Our passion at New Life Center for Thoroughbreds is to ensure that all retired racehorses have a chance at a New Life, whether that be a second, individually suited career or a comfortable, well-earned retirement. We hope to educate the public on the versatility, athleticism, and kind nature of the Thoroughbred while reducing the amount of Thoroughbreds who land in dire situations.
